Vintage Technology Highlights   Welcome to Emil's Vintage Technology Site - information on late 20th Century Technology

The largest section on the site. Covering over 600 Vintage Calculators from the 1970s with loads of extra information. LED, Panaplex and VFD calculators galore!

Early desktop calculators that are mains-only powered are the "boat-anchors" for calculator collectors.  Incredibly expensive in their time and crammed with ICs and transistors it's a wonder that they still work but they usually do.

Adverts for Domestic Products from the1950s and 1960s will bring back some memories.

Distributing Vintage Technology in the 50s wasn't that different from today, though it was more common to see smaller vans/lorries.  Take a look at how these items were sent around the country - and the adverts on the sides extolling the virtues of their wares.

Radio voltmeters - worry me as they look deadly!

Play the game of Vintage Technology Hit or Miss.  Can you guess whether these innovations of past years were a success or not?

See a large collection of vintage valve ephemera.  Includes data booklets, catalogues, pictures of factories and valve boxes.  Often thrown away when the next edition came out, these are fleeting artefacts of their day.

An in-depth study of Ultra Electric Ltd from the 1920s to 1960s.  Accompanied by plenty of adverts, product listings, brochures and catalogues.  It is hard to believe that the High Definition 3D TVs descended from them.  Vintage technology may look crude and primitive today but at the time it was state of the art.
