| Comments: | I can imagine this was popular when it first came out but this later print run appears to still be available – so not so much of interest these days. However, it is one of the best with (my favourite) upside-down writing and plenty of quite useful maths problem solvers. It even has conversion charts, tax calculations, Pythagoras, and magic numbers. I recommend you get it as I would class it as edutainment. | |
| Notable Quotes: | “…Norvin
Pallas not only describes basic arithmetic functions… but shows you how
to use your calculator to enjoy an astonishing array of brain-teasers,
puzzles, mathematical oddities, games, and recreations.” ”But in the long run, your instrument is a tool, not a toy. … It will, in the end, help you to a better understanding of the world around you and how it functions.” |
