Power: 6.0V DC, 4 x AA size batteries, 0.45W.  Also accepts adaptor/charger (undefined) through a top side socket on the right.  "Dry cells must be removed when using an adaptor".
Case: Chunky two piece plastic case.  Bottom is beige, top is matt black.  Green display filter has painted logo.  Decimo logo is metal inset panel.  Keyboard surround is brushed aluminium.  Top is slightly tilted upwards, including the back which causes the calculator to rock, especially with no batteries to weigh it down.

Age: 1980  and originally sold for £8.55 in Woolworth's
Manufacturer: Decimo Electronic Handy Calculator.  Made in Japan.  Serial No. 107355
Comments: Classic calculator which has a quality feel in the hand.  The logic is sound enough but let down by lack of recovery.  Imbalance on the desk let it down.  Original black plastic case is open topped.  For those non-UK viewers, VAT stands for Value Added Tax - the purchase tax system in the UK.

Components: 1 x cpu; NEC (obscured D1812C) 28 pin DIL, 0.6" width black plastic
1 x 9 digit VFD; single flat faced tube
1 x transistors
5 x diodes
6 x capacitors
3 x resistors
1 x transformer (V1)
Boards: The keyboard assembly (Logic W801-2 / W810.3) (GICO sticker 55.1.22 0-18) (which is date code 22 January 1980) sits on top of the battery compartment and is attached to the main cpu board (8D1M) below with 15 strong wires.
Construction: Front can be gently prized off after using the coin guide at the top.  Squeeze the cream plastic sides so the lugs separate without breaking and then hinge from the bottom.

Logic comments: The Clear Entry key (CE) is used to clear an input number, the clear (C) key is used to completely reset the calculator
Overflow on the input of a number is suppressed, keying a ninth digit is ignored
The constant function is automatic on all four operations
The negative sign is shown on the immediate left digit pushing into the fare left (ninth) to allow 8-digit negative numbers
Mark-up and mark-down is a one key operation: to mark-up 50 by 10% key in (5)(0)(X)(1)(0)(%)(=)(+)
Negative square roots result in "E" in the ninth digit and is not recoverable but the number is shown
A divide by zero or overflow error is shown by an "C" in the ninth digit and are not is recoverable
No bugs found
