Domestic Portable Radios: Champion Model 739 and 740B Portable Radios

This trader advert from September 1950 is for the somewhat old fashioned styled Champion portables.  Rather than use craftsman for the case, they were used for the circuit in this mixed up advert.  Just check out the mixed capitalization all Over the place!

Model 739 Portable.  The superb performance of an ALL-mains Set but using BATTERIES ONLY.  The craftsman-designed circuit not only produces richness of Tone and selectivity but conserves the battery life to its limit. Model 740B Mains of Battery.  The twin sister of the 739 but so ingeniously designed as to incorporate a separate switch, which by a turn operates the Set on Batteries 2- 4½v. and 2 B.104 45v. (stored in the case) or utilises AC or DC Mains.  19-49 metres, 190-555 metres, 800-2,000 metres.  4 valves and rectifier.  Plus £2 18 0 P.Tax (excluding Batteries): £13 15 0.
