This GEC advert from May 1950 is one of the early "better than 10-inch screen" TVs. Chunky cabinet design emphasises the reliable aspect. However, in 1950, most TVs had to be services four times a year. Big mention for noise suppression - interference caused by other electrical goods, but more commonly, cars was a big problem.
