Domestic Table TVs: Pilot TM54 Table Television Receiver

This trader advert from February 1951 showing the latest Pilot TV, cleverly uses the Pilot name as your guide to a good product.  My goodness, this copy has a lot of ... dots!.  However, the clever use of the two-spot colour halftone printing (getting as close to brown as you can get) is highly admirable.  Why didn't everyone do it?

The Pilot Says:- "Look to the future ... Here's the Big Picture Country-Wide Model for BIG business!"

12" Tube giving Actual Picture Size 11" x 18¼"

Pilot have produced this exciting new Table Receiver.  Bristling with the latest technical developments ... modern in appearance... simply operated... it represents a striking advance in design and performance... with selling points that will bring bigger T/V [sic] business to you.  Give your customers an even bigger view... with Pilot... the set with a brilliant future.
