Domestic Table Radiograms: Regentone Auto '99' radiogram

This trader advert from April 1950 trumpets the Auto '99' radiogram with a typical Regentone wood veneer with cream plastic trim design.  Boasting a nine-record auto changing (that is serial playback) capability, popular in it's time, this curious pull-out draw system was also becoming common - contrary to their suggestion.

No bigger than an ordinary table radio the AUTO '99' ... an automatic radiogram - 5 valve superhet, 3 wave-bands - is in a figured walnut cabinet.  Ingeniously designed, with a sliding compartment beneath the dial which gives access to the gramophone, it changes nine 10" or nine 12" records automatically.  AC mains 100/120, 200/240 volts. 50 cycles. [sic]  Its performance is outstanding.  The AUTO '99' - backed by Regentone's largest National advertising campaign - is even more successful than its well-known predecessor.

You'd better get Regentone by the sound of it!
