Vintage Technology: I'm not that Sad!
Ok, after seeing all that dusty old stuff you probably have classed me as a dusty old geek! Well, honestly, I'm quite normal really. So, let's have a look at what else I'm interested in...
Though I haven't done much for years as having three kids does not lend itself to spending a day getting that perfect shot. However, trading in the old trusty SLR for digital does allow a "quick and many shots" philosophy with a range of settings that sometimes gets some interesting results.
I'm lucky enough to live on quite a high hill, so we never get fog (ok we do get low cloud though). This shot, from the bedroom window, shows fog below settled in the dips and troughs of the landscape one sunny morning. In extreme cases it can look like a white sea with occasional islands; lovely.
In 2002 I completed my Level II RYA offshore power boat, ICC and VHF/DSC qualifications: you old sea dog you! Thought I'd give it a go - and loved it. I'm not into string-and-canvas boating (sailing) though - give me an engine that does 45 mph and I'm happy.
You get a totally different perspective of things from offshore. This image shows some of the famous attractions of Cardiff Bay - a great place to visit and perfect for boaters. The white church towards the centre is the "Norwegian Church" which was the Christening place of Roald Dahl, but now is a coffee shop. Roald, by the way, was obvious proof that his parents could not spell Ronald ;-)
...and other/random mentions on the web: items presented here are just a bit more info about me zzzz.
