Single puzzle box from the latter part of the above period. The simple (poorly) blue printed white box is 50mm x 90mm x 14mm (h x w x d). It is printed "Lucky Horse Shoe Puzzle 6d. each." Six "d" was six old pence, equivalent to 2˝ pence in today's money. A thinner variation on this puzzle is still used in modern sets. |

Type 4: Twisted manoeuvre. Solution is shown in a flimsy black printed
white piece of paper approximately 172mm x 66mm and is clearly of French
original as it is entitled "Déposé".
Also has the credit "IMP G Mendel 40. R.N. D de Nazareth Paris" |
