Metal Puzzles: Merit 12 Type 2
Undated (195?) variation of the large set of the puzzles.

Box of twelve metal puzzles consisting of lid and base in four colour printed card.  Approximately 224mm x 145m x 22m (w x h x d) with an internal white plastic moulded tray.  It has rectangular and square trays to hold the puzzles.

Instructions are printed on the underside of the lid.

By J&L Randall Ltd., Potters Bar, Made in England.

High quality set of limited variance puzzles: mostly type 1 puzzles which are a bit repetitive, but two more interesting puzzles to grapple with.

This set looks earlier that the copyrighted dated 1955 edition - and the plastic tray looks more basic so is probably earlier - any information would be most helpful.

Type 1 puzzle. Triangle and paper-clip diagonal pass-through.  Basic 2-D shapes with simple separation. Line up the two linear gaps at 90 degrees and pull apart.
Type 1 puzzle. Triangle and circle diagonal pass-through.  Basic shapes with simple separation. Line up the two linear gaps at 90 degrees and pull apart.
Type 1 puzzle. Crossed-circle and paper-clip diagonal pass-through.  Basic shapes with simple separation. Line up the two linear gaps at 90 degrees and pull apart.
Type 1 puzzle. Crossed-circle and fluted-circle diagonal pass-through.  Basic shapes with simple separation. Line up the two linear gaps at 90 degrees and pull apart.
Type 1 puzzle. Twin L-shaped loop diagonal pass-through.  Basic shapes with simple separation. Line up the two linear gaps at 90 degrees and pull apart.

Type 1 puzzle. Fluted-circle and paper-clip diagonal pass-through.  Basic shapes with simple separation. Line up the two linear gaps at 90 degrees and pull apart.

Type 4 puzzle. Twin barred-circle twisted manoeuvre pass-through.  Basic shapes with simple separation. Line up the two linear gaps at 90 degrees and pull/twist apart.

Type 2 puzzle. Locked in shape.  The small ring is held on the V-shaped holder, seemingly locked in place by a bigger ring which it cannot go though.

To solve gather both rings together and get the large ring to go over one end of the retainer - it will then become obvious.

Type 4 puzzle. Double twisted spiral diagonal pass-through. Line up the two linear gaps at 90 degrees and move on around the spiral, twisting the one piece around to do the second pass-though.  The bottom dummy spiral is just there to fool you.

Type 1 puzzle. Triple crossed-circle diagonal pass-through.  Basic shapes with simple separation. Line up the two linear gaps at 90 degrees and pull apart, again and again.

Type 1 puzzle. Triple triangle diagonal pass-through.  Basic shapes with simple separation. Line up the two linear gaps at 90 degrees and pull apart, again and again.

Type 1 puzzle. Long-armed crossed-circle diagonal pass-through.  Simple variation on the two crossed-circle above. Line up the two linear gaps at 90 degrees and pull apart.
