Metal chassis is exposed at the back which holds two aerial winding lugs and a gramophone pick up socket. Lovely slow motion aeroplane dial is easy and accurate to use. Ultra-type ridges are present on both sides making it easy to pick up:- sensible as this was designed as a "second set" to move around the house. | |

This radio was also available in Cuban red, April green and Ivory cream. There was a wooden case version T402 and a similar miniature bakelite version in 1946 (but using five valves and AC/DC) called the U405 (retailing at £13 17s 6d). | |
