"The 18-valve circuit employed is a
superhet on both sound and vision. The use of single side band
technique and the use of miniature valves and transformers enables all
circuits to be used at high efficiency, giving a steady picture of high
definition. An additional valve stage is incorporated in the long
range models. "The cathode ray tube gives a highly efficient black and white picture. The special filter in front of the cathode ray tube is a very substantial advance in increasing the pleasure of viewing. "A moving-coil high flux density speaker is employed, giving up to 3 watts output. "The radio models employ 5 valves for broadcast reception, which are an integral part of the television receiver, ensuring the same high quality of reproduction. "The cathode ray tube and special television valves are switched off when using radio. Provision is made for using a gramophone pick-up and extension loudspeaker. "Special attention has been paid to providing a natural life-like picture showing all the half-tones between black and white, uniformity of focus, a rock-steady picture which is not troubled by interference, even in areas of low signal strength, good sound quality, adequate suppression and, above all, reliability. |
